Hi,

I’m Emily 👋

A proud Minnesotan working at the intersection of faith and reproductive justice, I try to practice what I preach through my work in wellness, advocacy, and politics.

Here’s some more info about me:

People First in Work + Life.

From my team management style to how I spend my Saturday mornings, I am guided by the belief that every person deserves love and respect. By following the principles I’ve received through the Yale School of Management, LifeLabs Learning, and the Management Center, I lead teams in professional and volunteer capacities, including as a Board Member for Call to Action and Our Justice. As a trained and practiced Clinic Escort and Abortion and Pregnancy Loss Doula, I lead with empathy and understanding as I spend my Saturdays providing non-judgemental support for those seeking abortion care.

Faith, Spirituality, & Church Reform.

As a lifelong Catholic (who took some healthy breaks throughout life), I’ve always returned to my faith because of Catholic social justice. The belief that every person has dignity, that we must protect our planet, and defend the poor and vulnerable has guided most of my career. I love the rituals of Catholicism and often combine them with my personal spiritual practices, like reiki and meditation. Now, I work at the intersection of faith and reproductive justice as the Digital Engagement Director at Catholics for Choice and as a Vision Council member for Call to Action, one of the original Catholic church reform organizations. Wellness + Growth

Growing up, I was surrounded by the health and wellness industry – my family own a small, local health club and fitness center. I learned how to brew homemade kombucha before I owned my first car and was spotting folks in gyms before I was a teenager. Even in college, I was an Assistant Manager at our campus Health and Wellness Center. But the diet industry and capitalist nature of this space quickly pushed me out. Slowly, I’ve been working at unlearning so many of the harmful aspects of the wellness world and relearning to connect with the Earth, move my body in joyful ways, and nourish my mind, body, and spirit. Through this work (and it is work!), I have delved into what wellness means and looks like to me. Through various trainings and certifications, I aim to create a supportive space for people of all body types to explore and grow.
